It is a truly unique event, one that helps warm the soul with soup and philanthropy.The Wishing Bowl Affair, a fundraiser for the Covenant Children's Hospital gives Lubbock residents the opportunity to fill a bowl with soup while fulfilling children’s need.
Meghan Oldham, an RN at Covenant Children's Hospital, said the event is special because it helps provide children with distractions from being sick.
"The event is awesome because it raises money for the children's hospital, specifically for the Child Life program," she said. "The Child Life program helps with arts and crafts and provides toys for our kids. We just want to help provide that escape when a child is in the hospital."
