Texas Tech School of Nursing donors were honored for providing the monetary means to fund scholarships, educational programs, research, and faculty development.

"Well, we are staring down the barrels of a huge nursing shortage in the state of Texas, and regionally, and nationally,” Said Michael Evans, School of Nursing Dean. “And, we are trying to increase our enrollment here at Texas Tech to be able to address that nursing shortage into the future."

Here are some hard numbers to ponder about the shortage of nurses in Texas. Right now that number is about 22,000 and is on track to reach 70,000 by 2020.
